A document entitled "Open Letter", dated February 5, 2015, and marked as having been written by five people, including two members of the Council of the Archdiocese, has been posted on the internet and circulated for petition signatures.
This document, most amazing in its outrageous form, concludes with a call for the convening of a General Assembly on the pretext of challenges to sanctions against Fathers Johannes Johansen, Vladislav Trembovelski and Jean Gueit.
In view of this public prevarication, the Archdiocese is forced to restore the truth : no sanctions were taken against Fathers Johannes Johansen, Vladislav Trembovelski and Jean Gueit.
All decisions were made in the interests of the Church and at the request of many parishioners met during pastoral visits.
It is to be remembered that, if sanctions had indeed been imposed, the secular canonical tradition of the Orthodox Church and the laws of our Exarchate have, naturally, never provided for nor encouraged the taking of sides or public invective.
The signatories of this invective seem to have not believed it useful or necessary to request a hearing at the Archdiocese which, however, still holds open the doors of the Church before them.
May temperance, prudence and humility guide each of us in our actions and speech.
